Bayside beauty a great place to gather family and friends
Set in the southern Perth suburb of Mandurah, Chapters on the Terrace has created a bright and lively dining space opposite the picturesque Mandurah foreshore. With its jewel-lit glow bar and generous indoor dining and outdoor terrace, it is a perfect place for all kinds of social get-togethers.
“We’ve opted for a tapas style menu which is a great way to share a variety of delicious tastes over a leisurely drink,” said owner Georgia Beyers. “We’ve also added a few traditional dishes such as fish and chips and a Spanish-inspired cheeseburger to serve at lunch, as well as a kid’s menu.”
Opening the restaurant required a total overhaul of the existing site which took four months in total.
“It needed to be completely freshened up,” said Georgia. “We wanted to make the most of the lovely bayside location and to create a place that was modern and welcoming.”
Georgia’s background is in interior design and she had very specific ideas about the look she wanted to create. “I had seen some Italian ‘spider web’ style chairs that were gorgeous but very expensive,” she said. “Through an internet search, I came across Caféideas who stocked a similar looking style at a much more competitive price.”
Deciding to check out the chairs in person, Georgia visited Cafeideas’ Sydney showroom. She liked what she saw and was happy to place an order.
“We had already obtained a quote for all our other kitchen equipment and outdoor furniture supplies from a local company in Perth,” said Georgia. “But Cara from Cafeideas offered to take a look at our requirements while we were there. They were able to provide us with what we needed for around $15,000 less in total, which was great news. A bonus was that in a number of cases, we were able to get even better quality equipment than was in the original quote.”
All of the furniture and equipment was delivered in time for Chapters on the Terrace’s opening in August 2011. “Cara and everyone I dealt with at Cafeideas were very helpful and knowledgeable,” said Georgia. “I would definitely use them again.”
The restaurant has quickly made a mark on the local scene.
“We’re offering live entertainment Thursdays to Sundays so it’s a fun place to meet up with friends or family,” said Georgia. “We’re also thinking of adding in comedy nights and ‘Chapters Idol’ nights too.”
With its dramatic Mondrian-style bar, Chapters on the Terrace brings a splash of bright colour and a relaxed place to gather to the area. The restaurant’s signature mega-sized cocktail – big enough to share with a few – is proving popular for many types of celebrations.
“We get a great reaction to the look and feel our furniture and décor have created, as well as to our delicious menu,” said Georgia. “The kitchen and bar equipment we bought through Cafeideas are working really well too and our staff enjoy using them. All in all, I’m really pleased with what we have been able to create here – it’s a great place to socialise!”
Chapters on the Terrace is open from midday until late, Wednesday to Sunday. It’s located at Shop 1/38 Mandurah Terrace, Mandurah, Perth, Western Australia.
